Indoor Chapel
A rare moment when it is empty - this is where we gather for morning and evening prayer and our Journeys session.
The Lord be with you!
Here is a cabin group leading a chapel service - over the week each group will have the opportunity to plan lead us in music, sacred story and prayer!
Our first song will be...
Campers are more than welcome to bring their guitars and join the band for worship or campfires.
Outdoor Chapel and Campfire CIrcle
The heart of HCC, refurbished in 2004. The 18 foot cross is made out of two logs from the old circle.
Firelight - Christ light
God of endings, We give thanks for our week together in Christ Friendships made, new skills learned, games played, art created, stories told. May we find new beginnings when we share these gifts which we carry home. May this time at camp burn in our hearts long after the glow of our final campfire dies. Amen.
Saturday Eucharist
We celebrate our week together every Saturday at 10:30 an. Everyone is welome to join us.
Peace Pole Blessing
A Peace Pole is a hand-crafted monument that displays the message and prayer May Peace Prevail on Earth on each side in different languages. There are tens of thousands of Peace Poles in 180 countries all over the world dedicated as monuments to peace. They serve as constant reminders for us to visualize and pray for world peace. Here Bishop Bob Bennett blesses ours!
Companions on a Journey
Our labyrinth was built in 2009 by our grade eight camp and LITS and all the younger campers bringing up stones from the beach! It is a great way to walk your prayers or worries and helps us to think about God working in our lives.
Jump in the Lake!
Weather permitting we go to the beach several times a day for camp wide swims and individual sessions for campers. The beach is always supervised by qualified lifeguards.
AAAAGH!
That's cool on a hot day! The buckets are part of our Splash pad made possible by a generous donation from Trivitt Memorial Church in Exeter, ON.
In the Shade
Each cabin has a porch - great for hanging out, playing quiet games, making bracelets, having a meeting, night time devotions...
I want a top bunk!
Camper cabins can hold up to ten campers and two staff. Built-in bunks have lots of storage at the head and foot of the bed. Campers can bring a sleeping bag and pillow or even a small fitted sheet and warm cover for sleeping. Campers are encouraged to bring a book and flashlight to help settle themselves at night.
Up, up and away...!
Part of our initiative task course this climbing wall is one of the highlights for older campers.
Teeter Totter?
The whale watcher is a very popular balancing platform that encourages teamwork to make it level.
Lights, action, camera...
This cabin group is getting ready for Camp Entertainment - a night of skits, jokes and songs!
Sunset
In the light of the sun we have worked and played. Tender God, when night falls tuck us under covers of starry darkness, so we might sleep peacefully and rise refreshed to greet the new day. Amen.
